Changelog

Every week we publish what we shipped and what it means for you. No version numbers, no jargon — just what changed and why you'd care.

Week of Sep 21–27, 2026

The week BrandU stopped being a demo and started being something you can actually work in — the editor became editable, your work got a home, and paying got simple.

  • New

You can finally edit your video, not just watch it

Until now the editor showed you what the video would look like but wouldn't let you change it. Now you can rewrite lines in place, add and remove shots, reorder them, and undo anything you get wrong. The script is the video — so editing the words edits the video.

  • New

See your videos being made, and download them the moment they're done

Generating used to be a black box: you'd submit and wait, with no idea if anything was happening. There's now a place that shows every job, which stage it's on, and what it cost you. When a video finishes, the download button is right there.

  • New

Save your brand once, so every video sounds like you

If you make videos regularly, retyping your product name, tone, and do's and don'ts every single time is the kind of chore that makes you stop making videos. Fill it in once and it stays on file for your next project.

Your products now have their own shelf

Products were buried inside your media library, mixed in with raw footage and images — so finding "the one I always feature" meant scrolling past everything else. They're now their own collection you can maintain separately, with the details that matter for videos.

Buy more credits without leaving the page you're on

You used to have to go hunting to add credits when you ran low mid-project. The picker now sits right where you check your balance, so a top-up is a couple of clicks instead of a detour.

  • Improved

Finding an old draft no longer means scrolling until you recognize it

Once you have more than a handful of drafts, a flat list stops working. You can now search by name, sort by what you actually care about (recently edited, most shots), rename in place, and delete rows one at a time as you tidy up.

  • Improved

Uploads you can call off, and a library you can actually browse

Picking the wrong file used to mean waiting for a large upload to finish before you could fix it — now you can cancel mid-upload. And as your library grows, it pages and filters by type so you're not loading everything at once.

Week of Sep 16–20, 2026

The first week: BrandU went from an idea to a site you could walk through — browse templates, start a video, and see what it costs.

  • New

Start from a proven video instead of a blank page

The hard part of making a video isn't the editing, it's not knowing what to make. The homepage now shows real templates grouped by the kind of video you're making — a product demo, a review, a multi-person interview. Open one to watch it, then start your own version with a single click.

  • New

Know what a video will cost before you commit to making it

Guessing at spend is why people hesitate to hit generate. When you start a project you pick the aspect ratio and how many variations you want, and the credit estimate updates as you change them — so the price is visible before the work, not after.

  • New

Real prices, and the terms written down

No "contact us for pricing". The plans, what each one includes, and how many videos that works out to are public — alongside the privacy policy and terms, so you can check how your content is handled before you upload anything.

You decide whether we track anything

Analytics only loads after you say yes. Nothing runs in the background until you've made that choice, and you can change your mind later from the footer.
